Job Description

Position Summary

The Selection Tour Program Coordinator is responsible for all execution elements of a 48-stop nationwide tour program associated with the selection of players for the McDonald’s All American Games (McDAAG). The selected candidate must understand sports marketing and events, with experience in operations, sponsorship activation, and setup of sporting events. Individuals must have good customer relations and communication skills required for interfacing with colleagues, extended McDAAG team, vendors, sponsors, and clients. The Selection Tour Program Coordinator should have a special love for event management, desire for travel, work ethic, and professionalism to represent KemperLesnik, McDAAG, and other sponsors across the country.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Route and travel to series of stops for designated selection tour
    • Liaison with schools to schedule stop and logistics
    • Communicate with Home Office
    • Securely and safely travel all personnel and equipment
    • Book appropriate travel & lodging accommodations while traveling
  • Execute press conference/pep rally associated with each stop
    • Walk-throughs and setup with school officials, sponsor activation representatives, local media, and McDonald’s local activation teams
    • Event script creation, management, and delivery working with Sponsor Relations Department, Game Operations, Player Relations, and appropriate sponsor, client, and school representatives
    • Secure all required video and graphic requirements from each stop using provided video and camera equipment
    • Setup and tear down all tour equipment including, but not limited to: video camera, signage, tables, podium, sound systems, backdrops
  • Complete Post-Event Deliverables
    • Upload video footage to videographer’s site
    • Upload photographs to photo sharing site
    • Create event recap document
    • Wrap-up of any communication with school, news, sponsors, etc.
  • Manage and update tour budget
    • Keep track of receipts, expenditures
    • Report back to Operations Lead
  • Act as a professional representative of the McDAAG at all times, including key media messaging, Games history, and event information



  • BA/BS preferred, or an experienced Senior, preferably in sports administration, marketing, communications, or related field
  • 1-2 years event experience ideal; sports event experience preferred
  • Experience with Audio/Visual technology and setup
  • Subject to a MVR screening; must have driving record with no violations
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to pass a drug test
  • Demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of event operations
  • Demonstrated quality in written, verbal, interpersonal, and telephone communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented, organizational and time management ability
  • Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision
  • Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality
  • A positive attitude with professional manner and appearance in all situations
  • Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches


Position Requirements:



  • Selection Tour Program Coordinator will be required to be on the road with another coordinator in a McDAAG vehicle to execute the tour for approximately 6-8 weeks beginning in mid-January
  • Work hours will include days and evenings on weekdays and weekends
  • Team of Selection Tour Coordinators will be required to share lodging while on the road
  • Subject to environmental conditions




  • General office machines such as laptops, printers, copiers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, etc.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Microsoft Outlook
  • Video and digital cameras




  • Read and write (English)
  • Communicate verbally with staff members and/or customers
  • Give and/or follow verbal and written instructions
  • Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Retrieve, read and interpret information from technical sources
  • Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time
  • Be in a vehicle driving for up to 12 hours at a time
  • Lift up to 30 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly
