KemperLesnik is seeking energetic and self-motivated people for summer internships for its public relations division.

In these positions, PR interns will learn to:

  • Understand the media process
  • Prepare for and undertake media relations campaigns
  • Work with journalists
  • Research news
  • Create media contact lists
  • Initiate social media campaigns

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Media contact list development and maintenance
  • News research
  • Pitch letter and other news writing
  • Media pitching
  • Social media communications

Interns will be based at KemperLesnik’s Chicago office (10 S. Riverside Plaza, Suite 1844). Hours are typically 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., but are flexible depending on class schedule. Interns are paid minimum wage, no benefits.


  • Must be junior or senior in college with degree focus in business, marketing or journalism
  • Previous internships preferred
  • Demonstrable knowledge of social media
  • Demonstrable knowledge of media relations
  • Exceptional communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • A strong work ethic
  • An entrepreneurial spirit
  • A true love of public relations
