Position Summary:

KemperLesnik is seeking a trained event public relations professional to join the agency as an Account Supervisor. This person will be an integral part of a team of PR professionals developing and implementing media relations and social media programs for the agency’s owned and operated events, including the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, CBS Sports Classic, Windy City Wine Festival and Naperville Wine Festival, as well as delivering PR services for event clients.

This person should be capable of managing many projects at once while delivering consistent and high-level traditional and social media results. This person must be able to manage others and to work on multiple teams within the agency. Strategic thinking and an ability to drive creative results are musts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage event PR team
  • Lead internal and external client relations
  • Lead media relations efforts:
    • Write press and other materials
    • Manage and regularly update media lists
    • Maintain and foster relationships with national and local media to secure positive news coverage for all events
    • Serve as media coordinator for all events
    • Liaise with sports information directors at partner universities
  • Create and execute publicity events
  • Manage numerous digital channels, including:
    • Social media:
      • Develop comprehensive social calendars for all accounts
      • Create compelling content in the form of photos, graphics, infographics and videos
    • Websites:
      • Assist in the update and maintenance
      • Create content and pages
      • Manage email databases
    • Produce content for event programs, publications and other initiatives
    • Manage vendor relationships
    • Measure and report on program results
      • Utilize technology to measure media and digital impact
      • Compile end of program and major announcement recap reports


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or journalism
  • 3-5 years of experience in public relations in an agency, event management, athletic communications setting or equivalent
  • Seasoned in writing and editing of press releases and other external documents
  • Experience in creating and developing comprehensive social media strategy and content
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere and Illustrator
  • Track record of producing visual content in the form of graphics, infographics or video for use on multiple platforms
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure situations, and balancing multiple projects at a given time
  • Proven track record of developing and fostering meaningful relationships with media, resulting in positive media coverage of clients and properties
  • Assisted in the execution of events
  • History of producing, editing, and designing publications
  • Assisted in crafting fact sheets, messaging documents and other internal collateral
  • Experience in producing comprehensive media recap reports and gathering and interpreting media and digital data
  • Well versed in website administration, editing and publishing
